Whoever said I wouldn‘t be able to do this, I wonder where they are now.

Paper Heart Clothing started out back in 2006 in Berlin, being nothing more than a dream. And as I soon noticed, the really good dreams tend to leave you sleepless.

Nothing has ever made more sense to me than doing this. I am humbled to see where it has already taken me. When the limited edition debut line Hearts Are For Lovers dropped in April 2009, the biography of the brand was literally a blank page. I did not know what to expect.

With the help of several awesome people that I am proud to call my best friends, I pulled off an exciting photoshoot in Hamburg. Soon after, I put a website into business and spread the word about the company, using custom stickers that were placed in over 20 cities all over Germany, France, Great Britain and the US. Also, the popular German bands 5Bugs and Enno Bunger toured the country, wearing the shirts onstage.
I was blown away after I learned that I had sold out the entire range.

I never was and still am no expert in marketing or business. Back then, I was a kid with a dream and the passion to create something. The most rewarding outcome for me was seeing people in the streets, wearing my shirts.

Now, with the release of the second Paper Heart spring line Make This A Home., it‘s about more than just trying something out. It is about making a statement.

Looking back at the young history of this brand, what sticks out most is the people, the loyal friends and followers. A friend of Paper Heart Clothing is considered part of the family. After all, a movement would be nothing without the hearts and minds that push it forward. And so the idea of Paper Heart goes way beyond wearing a shirt. The very name derives from the vulnerability that every human being carries in a certain spot. Showing it, living with it, bearing the scars of one’s own past like a war veteran’s medals is the only way to becoming happy in a world where words can be sharp as knives. Lift your head and show the world your face.

Paper Heart Clothing draws its passion and inspiration from music, friendships and the excitement of a substance-free lifestyle. Expect to see a lot more, coming very soon.
